Common Connection Issues

Having trouble connecting your Gmail account? You're not alone. Here are the most common issues and how to fix them.

IssueSymptomCommon Cause
Connection FailsError message after signinPopup blocker or cookies
No Emails FoundConnected but empty resultsRecently created account
Permission DeniedGoogle rejects accessOrganization restrictions
Stuck LoadingEndless spinnerBrowser extension conflict

Quick Fixes

  1. Disable popup blockers - Quick Ping needs to open a Google signin window

  2. Enable third-party cookies - Google auth requires cookies to work

  3. Try incognito mode - This rules out extension conflicts

  4. Clear Chrome cache - Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data

  1. Wait 1-2 minutes - Initial scan takes time for large inboxes

  2. Check your email format - Some automated emails may not match patterns

  3. Try manual scan - Go to Settings and click "Rescan Gmail"

If you're using a work or school Google account, your organization may restrict third-party apps.

  • Contact your IT administrator
  • Try with a personal Gmail account
  • Check your Google security settings
  1. Refresh the page (Ctrl/Cmd + R)

  2. Restart Chrome

  3. Disable other extensions temporarily

  4. Reinstall Quick Ping
